Shipping Information
 
Standard Shipping
We currently offer shipping to residential and business addresses within the continental United States (that is, within the lower 48 states, excluding Alaska and Hawaii). At this time we are unable to ship to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, nor to any international address. We generally use UPS Ground for our accessories and small furniture shipments. Please see below for our White Glove Delivery services for larger and/or fragile items.

Standard Shipping Rates
Received orders for items that are in stock are usually shipped within 2-3 business days and delivered within 5-10 business days thereafter, depending on location, weather conditions and time of year. Rates are as follows:

White Glove Delivery

Larger items and antiques will require White Glove Delivery services. These items are blanket wrapped at our warehouse, brought into your home, unpacked, assembled and placed in your desired location. All packaging will be removed. There will be an additional charge for any White Glove Delivery service; please contact us for a quote.
Delivery Options
 
Professional Delivery
European Country Living (ECL) offers professional delivery services for your purchase(s) within the metropolitan Washington DC area and throughout the continental U.S. Depending on the delivery service chosen, items will either be delivered to your door or into your home. With in-home delivery services, once the item(s) delivered, they will be unpacked, inspected and placed wherever you like, provided there is enough space to comfortably fit through all doors, passageways and staircases. All packing materials will be removed.

Appointments
Deliveries are generally scheduled Mondays through Fridays during normal business hours. Evening and weekend deliveries can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. Although every effort will be made to deliver your items as quickly as possible, be aware that appointments for a delivery may be 2~4 weeks after purchase, depending on delivery location, weather and time of the year.
Stay in Touch
Our delivery team will stay in touch with you should there be any delays in meeting a scheduled delivery appointment. Please do the same; should there be any problems having an adult (18+) be at home for the scheduled appointment, please notify ECL immediately.

Size is Your Responsibility
Please be aware that ECL’s responsibility to deliver any furniture ends at curbside. Customers should ensure that items to be delivered will fit into the desired location. ECL cannot assume responsibility for items not reaching their final destination — please measure doorways, hallways, and stairs for size limitations and look for potential trouble spots (e.g. narrow 90-degree angles). For safety and liability reasons, ECL will not delivery furniture over balconies or through windows.
Clear the Path to the Final Destination
On the appointed delivery date, please ensure that walkways are free of any obstacles (bikes, skateboards, etc.) and that during the wintertime all driveways, sidewalks and paths are kept free of snow and ice. Please remove any small area rugs which may cause our delivery personnel to slip or fall and take down any pictures or wall clocks that are in the path of travel. It is a good idea to ensure your pets are kept safely behind closed doors. Let us know immediately if you think your driveway will not provide a comfortable margin of maneuverability for our large delivery trucks.
Receiving a Delivery
Please have the area in which you would like to have your furniture placed cleared of existing furniture. We are more than happy to assemble your new furniture but unable to disassemble existing furniture. Carefully inspect your furniture and write down any problems or concerns on the Delivery Receipt. This is in order for ECL to accept responsibility for any repairs and/or exchanges. If there are any problems that cannot be resolved by the delivery team, please ask them to immediately contact their supervisor. The supervisor will work with you and determine a course of action.
ECL will not accept responsibility for damages discovered after our delivery team has departed your house, nor can it be held accountable for damages to the walls and/or floors of your home due to an insufficient margin of maneuverability through doorways, hallways and staircases.
Storage of Your Merchandise
ECL will store items after purchase in its warehouse for up to 30 days free of charge. After 30 days, storage fees may apply.
Split Deliveries
All items purchased will be delivered on the same date and time unless a “Split Delivery” is requested by the customer. Additional fees may apply.
