Delivery Services

ECL can provide professional delivery of all purchases to your home throughout Germany.  Upon delivery, furniture will be unpacked and inspected and all packaging material will be removed.

Every effort will be made to place the furniture item(s) in the location of your choice.  However, please be aware that ECL can only guarantee delivery to your front door and cannot be held responsible if your furniture is too large to fit through any doors, hallways and/or up and down any stairs.  Should it become necessary to return any item(s) to ECL, our standard Return Policy will apply and additional fees may be incurred.

Due to strict safety and liability concerns – not to mention tight delivery schedules – our delivery personnel are not authorized to move or haul away any of your existing furniture.

Delivery Charges

ECL deliveries are priced according to a zone map of Germany.  Delivery fees are net prices, non-refundable, and are for one trip to the customer’s premises.  Partial deliveries should be avoided and could result in additional charges.

Please note that delivery fees cannot be split between multiple customers, even if the locations are close to each other.  If you have arranged to pay the fees directly to the delivery personnel, you must also provide them with a valid VAT form in order to save the 19% sales tax on the delivery fee.

Appointments

Deliveries are generally scheduled Mondays through Fridays, 11:00~16:00, with a two hour delivery window given.  You can expect our drivers to arrive within that window.  Although every effort will be made to deliver your items as quickly as they are in stock, be aware that appointments for a delivery may be 2~4 weeks after the last item arrives at our warehouse.

Storage of Your Merchandise

Once you have been notified that your entire purchase is available for delivery and upon your request, ECL will store your item(s) in its warehouse for up to 30 days free of charge.  After 30 days, storage fees will apply.

Keep in Touch

Our delivery team will stay in touch with you should there be any delays in meeting a scheduled delivery appointment.  Please do the same; should there be any problems having an adult (18+) be at home for the scheduled appointment, please notify ECL immediately.  If you live on a military installation, the delivery personnel will contact you 15 minutes before arrival so you can sign them in at the gate.

 

Size is Your Responsibility

Customers must ensure that items to be delivered will fit into the desired location.  ECL cannot assume responsibility for items undeliverable to your desired location — please measure doorways, hallways, and stairs for size limitations and look for potential trouble spots (e.g. narrow 90-degree angles).  If you insist that the delivery personnel make an attempt to deliver through a space that they feel is too small or lacks manoeuvrability room you will be asked to sign a Delivery Waiver form. For safety reasons, we do not deliver furniture over balconies or through windows.  Also, please be sure your street and/or driveway has a comfortable margin of manoeuvrability for our very large trucks. 

Clear the Path to the Final Destination

On the appointed delivery date, please ensure that walkways are free of any obstacles (bikes, skateboards, etc.) and that during the wintertime all driveways, sidewalks and paths are kept free of snow and ice.  Please remove any small area or scatter rugs which may cause our delivery personnel to slip or fall and ensure your pets are kept safely locked away.

Receiving a Delivery

Please have a responsible adult (18 years of age or older) available to personally accept delivery of your items and to inspect their condition.  Damages to any items must be reported on the Delivery Receipt at the time of delivery in order for ECL to accept responsibility for any repairs and/or exchanges.  If an item is found to be unsatisfactory, please note it on the Delivery Receipt and ask the drivers to contact their supervisor.  A determination will be made whether to repair the item at your house or return it to the warehouse.

ECL will not accept responsibility for damages discovered after our delivery personnel has departed your house, nor can it be held accountable for damages to the walls and/or floors of your home due to an insufficient margin of manoeuvrability in doorways, hallways, and staircases.

Floor Models and Clearance Items

Please be aware that all “Floor Models” and “Clearance Items” are sold “As Is” and cannot be returned nor exchanged.  Carefully inspect these items BEFORE making any purchases as returns, exchanges and/or refunds are impossible at a later date.
